Easter is approaching. What does this mean for your teeth?

Easter dental

Easter is just around the corner once again which means yummy Easter treats and lots of chocolate! In turn, this means lots of sugar in our diets and unfortunately sugar plays a very harmful role in tooth decay. Everyone has bacteria in their mouths and this bacteria uses sugar to form acid. This acid then attacks our teeth causing decay/holes. For this reason, it is important to reduce the amount and frequency of sugar intake, and to minimize ‘sticky’ sugary foods. Enjoy your Easter eggs, by all means, but be mindful of how much sugar you are providing to the bacteria in your mouth and be diligent with toothbrushing and flossing. TMD/TMJ, sleep issues, implants and cosmetic dentistry are some of the few services provided by McCloy Dental Caboolture. We are here to help with any general dentistry enquiries as well.
